Just pointing out, you guys don't know what school they are going to. OP might be taking a philosophy class for one of their humanities credits for their degree. Just because they have the class, that doesn't mean that is their major.
Philosophy majors tend to score top 5 of all degree fields on any of the required grad school tests (LSAT, GRE, MCAT etc). And liberal arts may be useless if your sole motivating force in life is pursuit of money, but not everyone is like that
