Everyone who's pissed that the cop isn't "doing his job" - Pull out whatever crawled up your ass and died, ok? There are more serious things to investigate than kids having fun at a party.
All parties should have drunk jello covered girls stationed near the front door. Fool proof strategy to never get busted, even if you have a meth lab in the kitchen.
It's truly pathetic when you douche bags talk about the cops like you do. Sorry but if you are underage then your dumb ass should not be drinking - and if you do dont get pissy when you get a citation for it. Secondly, who is the first person your sorry asses call when something happens to you? the cops... quit breaking the law and lying and stealing and smoking dope and they wont harrass you moron!
Most cops are fucking douchers. It's nice to see every once in awile they aren't busting college parties. They should be more concerned with ACTUAL crime anyways.
If i were a cop and busted a college party... there's no way I could go home at night and feel good about myself. I would probably have my wife stomp on my throat until i choked and died on my own blood.
Zingggggg!
it's so funny when people get mad at cops for upholding the law. good job, guys :]
people like 2:16 only get "frustrated" because they don't agree with the laws. like them or not, they're in place and the cops are gonna enforce them.
How are people so deprived/cynical they are mad at the cop for not busting them? I want to know what a normal day is like for you. Do people just walk up and piss on you all day long? I don't get it
2:24 You're a bit naive about how law enforcement works. Cops sure are there to uphold the laws, but in many cases involving less serious offenses they have the power of discretion. *cue music* "The more you know!"
@2:11
Sorry. I'm a college student at Texas Tech and the cops are absolute shitheads. They bust 200+ people parties at party venues and hand out a ticket to every single person. If they are over 21, they get a noise violation.
Seriously? There's probably somebody getting robbed right down the street. Frustrating.
Ha, that happened to my friends and I...but we were the girls covered in not jello, but spaghetti....when we told them we were flight attendants they let us go :)
If you really wanna blame someone, bitch at the person that called the cop in the first place. Or maybe you should be mindful of your neighbor trying to sleep. Or just party out in the country where no one else is around you.
3:17, MIP= "minor in possession"
3:19, I guess the point I was making is it's likely that MOST of the tickets written were justifiable. Sure, some of-age party-goers probably got tickets they didn't deserve. By the same token, most of those kids were probably underage.
Here in the East Coast, in the UD ghetto (University of Dayton), there are parties every weekend with beer pong right on the front lawn. Cops don't give a shit as long as you don't walk around with an open beer.
2:30, yes, they have the power of discretion. but their judgment may be to write the tickets. so like 2:19 said, if you're going to a party that will attract that much attention, you're taking your risks. if you get busted, you have no one but yourself to blame. and don't tell me i'm a bit naive about law enforcement. i have cops in the family and my boyfriend is going to be one.
they got a job to do, if youre cool with them, theyll usually be cool with you...ive had cops who chilled for a couple minutes with us...on college campuses thoguh, youre fucked, theyll try to bust you for fuckin anythign...real cops look at the situation, tell people to get out and go home, so that way they can concentrate on real crimes
2:24... I like how you think the cops "uphold the law" in this instance.
They are passing out noise violations to people at a party, clearing unknowing that these people were actually being loud at all.
Isn't this an abuse of authority?
Hint:
The answer is yes.
2:16 that blows. Then again, 200+ people parties are begging for that kind of attention. I mean they're great, but you can't make a habit of going to them when the cops make determined rounds in the area. My tip - stick to partying with frats who have connections with the PD. Yes, that exists.
2nd 2:07 a bit harsh/rambly, but overall good point.
Anyone who went to parties in college knows and loves the rare unicorn that is the cop who will give you a warning, shoot the shit and be on his merry.
In addition, the cops shouldn't pass out tickets at party venues....It's a PARTY VENUE.
That's like a cop going into a bar and passing out noise violations to random people because the bar music is too loud.
A noise violation when there are under 21s at a party - Consider yourself lucky. . A real dick cop would just as easily write you up for providing alcohol to a minor - Regardless of if you did or not.
My best friend is a cop. He's on the First 48. I promise he would have jumped in with the jello covered girls. Then he'd call me to rub it in.
Talk to a cop one day. They have amazing stories.
for all the people saying that the cops are just "upholding the law" and shouldn't give warnings, think about what you're saying right now the next time you drive 40 in a 35.
4:54- right on target. i CANNOT stand it when people say shit like that about cops. might be true for some, but plenty of others are good guys and it's ignorant to lump them into this personality type that people (who likely have a record they are bitter about) feel they must fit.
if you read 2:16's post carefully, they said if they are 21+ they got noise violations. implying that those under 21 probably got MIPs. i'm sorry, you can't argue with that, party venue or not.
i dont know why anyone would ever like to be a cop. they suck, they are no good loosers who never got any respect in highschool or college so they have to take out thier shitty social lives on other people having fun
@2.51 PM, you're probably a 16 year old kid who got busted by the cops once or twice.
Get to know some, they are real people too. They'll let you off with a warning if you don't treat them like shit and you don't lie to them. Unless you're doing something really ignorant.
So just because the people under 21 justifiably got tickets that means by default the people 21 and up should get tickets to for noise violations?
C'mon....that's ridiculous.
